This MEMBERS only webinar explores considerations relating to understanding assent and assent withdrawal. Through a case study example, Dr. DeLeon will demonstrate the nuances that exist when developing skillsets for clients around assent and assent withdrawal. Participants will have the opportunity to apply the content within interactive breakout rooms. A sample plan based on the case study is also provided to attendees.

Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will be able to define assent
2. Participants will be able to explain the role of Assent within the BACB Ethical Code
3. Participants will be able to identify at least 1 skillset to assess relating to assent and assent withdrawal
4. Participants will be to explain the importance of setting boundaries
5. Participants will be able to identify a basic scope and sequence for teaching clients how to navigate boundaries

About the Presenter

Dr. Megan DeLeon is the creator of the Do Better Movement and founder of the Do Better Collective. Megan earned her Ph.D. in Special Education and Behavior Analysis at The Ohio State University in 2015. She has taught courses in behavior analysis and special education as an adjunct professor for several universities. She is the co-author of several journal publications, the book “7 Steps to Earning Instructional Control, and book chapters.  Megan regularly presents to professional organizations around the globe as an invited speaker. In 2018, Dr. DeLeon started the #dobetter professional development movement to improve access to training in best practices in the field of behavior analysis via an online community, webinars, and a podcast.
