This course explores how behavior analysis can be applied in school settings to support meaningful educational outcomes, educational access, and inclusion. Learners will examine common misconceptions about school-based ABA, explore historical events that have influenced current approaches to access and educational opportunities for individuals with disabilities, and consider the role of Free Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) and Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) in supporting participation. The course also highlights the importance of generalization, collaboration, communication, and data-informed decision-making when supporting learners across educational environments. Throughout the course, learners will consider how behavior-analytic principles can promote meaningful participation and success in school settings.
